What is PharmD?
PharmD or Doctor of Pharmacy is a six-year doctoral course recognized which is a prerequisite for students aspiring for a PhD in pharmaceuticals. The curriculum includes five years of classroom training and a year-long internship or residency program. During the internship period, students get hands-on training in clinical research, medicinal biochemistry, and pharmaceuticals.
Post completion of this course, students gain in-depth knowledge in respect to patient diagnosis, treatment procedures, and therapeutic usage of clinical drugs, among others. In Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, students also get hands-on training in different software solutions like SPSS, Micromedex, and Winnonlin.
Unlike BPharm, this course is not restricted to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry only.
