Is MBBS a Good Career Option Today?February 10, 2020
Most people understand that the MBBS program, which stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), is for those who wish to build a career in the healthcare industry. The duration of the course is generally five to six years, which is longer than other courses as it’s essentially two medical degrees combined into one. However, despite its long duration, it’s one of the best programs for young students today.
If you want to become a medical professional, such as a doctor or a surgeon, then getting an MBBS degree is one of the best ways to go about it. Sure, it can be a challenging program, but the scope is huge. After graduation, not only can you expect an impressive income, but you also get emotional satisfaction in the fact that you are able to improve the lives of others by removing their illnesses and pain. You can also practice independently and set up your own business after gaining enough experience in the industry. Since a large number of hospital chains like Fortis and Apollo employ all kinds of medical professionals for managerial and administrative positions, you can secure jobs in top hospitals with huge pay.
If you want to apply for an MBBS program, you need to clear your 10+2 with good marks (the exact percentage required can vary from one institute to another). It’s also important that you have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (instead of Mathematics) and have obtained at least 50% marks in these subjects.
If you meet the basic requirements for MBBS, you can appear for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test or NEET. Based on your score and merit, you can get a seat in a good medical college in India. You can also apply for AIPMT, AIMEE, and AIIMS, and JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exams.
