Eligibility and Admission Process
Students with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications (BCA), or a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (BSc. IT/BSc. CS) are eligible to apply. MCA admission eligibility criterion is a minimum score of 50% in BSc. IT or CS, or in BCA. For admission to the MCA course at Manipal Institute of Technology, students are also required to take the Manipal MCA entrance exam called Manipal Entrance Test (MET).
The MCA entrance is comprised of 100 questions with a duration of one and a half hours. The exam is held between April and May. The syllabus consists of Mental Ability, Basic Mathematics, General English, and Computer Aptitude. The marking scheme includes negative marking with four marks for a correct answer and a negative one mark for a wrong answer. Both Indian nationals and foreign nationals/NRIs can apply for this course.
